The Beginner's Guide To Changing A Tire

Learning to change a tire is one of the tasks that almost everyone must learn as a young adult. However, many people don't take the time to learn until it is too late. Eventually, they will end up stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire and no clue what to do about it. Don't be one of those people.

With this simple 13 step guide, you should be back on the road in no time:

1) Move your car to a safe location
2) Turn on your hazard lights and apply the parking brake
3) Apply wheel wedges to ensure that the vehicle does not roll
4) Remove the wheel covering or hubcap
5) Loosen the lug nuts but do not remove them completely
6) Place the jack underneath the car and lift it
7) Remove the lug buts entirely
8) Remove the flat tire
9) Mount the new tire and tighten the lug nuts
10) Lower the vehicle on the jack and tighten the lug nuts again
11) Replace the wheel covering or hubcap
12) Do a final pressure check on the new tire and return your tools to their designated place in the vehicle
13) Bring your flat tire to your dealer or mechanic to be replaced or repaired

There is no such thing as a good time to have a flat tire, but with these helpful tips your downtime should be minimized.

Stay safe out there, and happy driving!
